##虽然不喜欢通过抽取童年的美好与成年的痛苦将它们对立起来的手法，但是作者写得实在是太动人了。卡罗尔在暗室中告诉爱丽丝·利德尔，“成年之地”阴森破旧，但在这里，在故事中，她永远不会受到伤害，会永远被爱。长大后的爱丽丝结婚生子，一度认为奇境并不仅存在幻想中，但在失去儿子，一个人将要孤独终老的时候，她选择相信自己是那个奇境中的爱丽丝。彼得·卢埃林·戴维斯站在演出后的舞台上，闭着眼睛，体会到了永无岛是真实存在的。但他却说出了最残酷的真相：男孩长不大的唯一原因是他们死了，不是吗？经历了弟弟的自溺身亡和战场的杀戮，彼得被送入疯人院。他告诉爱丽丝不能活在幻想当中：我不是彼得·潘，你也不是奇境中的爱丽丝。结尾是令人心碎的：两年后，爱丽丝在“那个金色下午，蜜蜂的嗡嗡声”中安然离开，又过了几年，彼得选择了卧轨。
