溫迪·布朗（Wendy Brown），普林斯頓高等研究院社科院教授、加州大學伯剋利分校政治學教授。著有《受傷之國》等多本學術著作。

那麼，我們該怎麼辦？溫迪·布朗建議我們將目光投嚮韋伯的兩場著名演講：《以學術為誌業》和《以政治為誌業》。作者指齣，一百年前的韋伯早就意識到：學術研究無法迴答價值問題，應當嚴格遵守“價值中立”的立場，大學課堂的價值灌輸並不能彌閤社會撕裂，政治纔是剋服虛無主義的關鍵場域。在這個缺乏意義的時代，作者藉韋伯的聲音，呼喚負責任的行動者肩負起創造意義的挑戰，唯此我們纔能超越這個時代。
