这部作品卷帙浩繁，用古法文写成，又引用了希腊、意大利等国的语言，以及大量拉丁语，因此翻译难度相当大。本书积累了组译出版《追忆似水年华》的成功经验，采用了蒙田死后于１５９５年经过增订的定本，于１９９３年开始组译，历经四年之久，分成三卷一次推出。这是蒙田随笔的第一个全译本，参与该书的译者都是研究和翻译法国文学富有经验的学者，为译出蒙田随笔特有的思想火花和语言魅力，各位译者都付出了巨大的努力，翻译态度是极为严谨的，读者可以从中真实地窥见到蒙田的思想、风格及他所生活的时代的风俗民情蒙田在文中论述的有些观点也许未必正确，但读者可以从随笔的总体上吸收他的思想和艺术精华，并收到启智怡情的功效。

书的质量自是没的说啦，不过这本书我为什么没有塑封，书页上印了一大块黑印子好心疼呀，包装有点太马虎啦。毕竟这么贵的书不便宜呢。终于买到了还是很开心的，继续加油学好英语
