The hobbit-hole in question belongs to one Bilbo Baggins, an upstanding member of a "little people, about half our height, and smaller than the bearded dwarves." He is, like most of his kind, well off, well fed, and best pleased when sitting by his own fire with a pipe, a glass of good beer, and a meal to look forward to. Certainly this particular hobbit is the last person one would expect to see set off on a hazardous journey; indeed, when Gandalf the Grey stops by one morning, "looking for someone to share in an adventure," Baggins fervently wishes the wizard elsewhere. 　　两个人加入了神秘的阅读小组“Coalbiter”，主要是研究冰岛文学（个人不懂，冰岛有啥好书看？）后来这个小组逐渐衰落，他们又加入了一个新的小组“Inkling”,这个大家都熟悉哈。小组每周四都在刘易斯家里聚会，每周二在“鹰和孩子”酒馆聚会，两人在这个小组里玩耍的非常欢乐，反正托尔金的夫人伊迪丝是长期不满的。

这是一套里的其中一本，用的是托老自己的画。硬壳精装，内用偏黄纸。这一套书都很不错。

拿到手才发现这一版虽然是硬壳精装，但是书脊那是胶装的啊，以后要小心地翻了……不过对其他方面（纸张、插图、封面……）还算比较满意啦。最后还是提一下京东一贯的塑料袋包装……我买这么多书你就不能换个箱子吗……

比尔博•巴金斯原是一名本分的哈比人，一个夏日的早晨，他被十三个矮人和一名巫师“坑蒙拐骗”，踏上了冒险的旅程。他们的目的是打倒恶龙，取回被恶龙霸占的原属于矮人的宝藏。在途中，巴金斯先生偶得一枚可以让人隐身的魔戒，凭借这枚戒指，他协助矮人们逃脱了半兽人的追捕、逃出了精灵国王的牢笼、深入恶龙的洞穴，最终矮人们取回了祖先的财富，巴金斯先生也带着自己的那份报酬回到了哈比屯，过回了安静惬意的日子。
