寶寶齣生開始看英文書，現在看瞭很多英文原版瞭。這本先放著。

這是近年來讀到的為數不多的好書。有時候文字很好，但故事非常一般，而這本恰恰是既有故事又有文字，非常難得。尤其是前半段作者對自己在大陸期間童年、青年時期讀書生活的迴憶，非常生動又耐人尋味，可以看到大時代中精英群體的典型的心路曆程。不過後半段在颱灣教書育人的部分，故事性就欠缺一點。不過自傳體的文字畢竟不是小說，年過八十的筆觸，是有格外不同的溫和內斂，清晰透徹。這世上原來曾經有過這樣的中國,曾經有過這樣有骨氣，有纔華的中國知識分子。南開中學的校長、作者的父親、流亡大學的師生，雖相隔六十多年，也為曾有這樣的同胞而自豪。
