  sinceMarshall’stime,thisdefinitionofeconomicsisastruetodayasit

  wasin1890,whenthefirsteditionofhistextwaspublished.

  Whyshouldyou,asastudentatthebeginningofthe21stcentury,embarkon

  thestudyofeconomics?Therearethreereasons.
