Hugh Glass was left to die.

Attacked

Whilst hunting in the fur-rich, Native American-held territory of the UpperMissouri River, Hugh Glass was attacked and mauled by grizzly bear. Hundreds of miles away from help; his fellow hunters were unable to carryhim out. Two men were paid to wait for him to die.

Abandoned

Unable to wait to the end, Glass's comrades left him alone in the wilderness- taking his supplies, his knife, and his rifle. Ultimately taking his life.

John M. Myers is the author of seventeen books, ranging from fantasy tohistorical fiction of the American Old West. His best known work The Saga ofHugh Glass: Pirate, Pawnee, and Mountain Man was first published in 1963.
