　　这两条批评都是成立的，但都有问题。因为第一，波普尔虽然摆明了是站在民主主义立场反对经典政治哲学，但他总不能高呼“极权主义就是错的，因为民主主义就是对的”吧！他在《开放社会》一书中系统阐述了民主主义相对于极权主义的优势（无论是原则合法性上的还是实践效用上的），至今仍少有匹敌的著作，施特劳斯不从这些具体的地方批判，而只针对人家的政治倾向，未免太过狂妄。第二，“没有读懂”这个评语是多少有些暧昧和含糊的，谁敢说自己真正读懂了柏拉图？
