作者简介

Syd Hoff was born and raised in New York City. He studied at the National Academy of Design and sold his first cartoon to The New Yorker when he was eighteen. He eventually became one of the most original and beloved authors and illustrators of children's books. Mr. Hoff wrote more than fifty books for children, including the I Can Read titles Danny and the Dinosaur, Oliver, and Sammy the Seal.

"After a long sea voyage, Oliver the elephant gets off the boat and learns that he doesn't have a job in the circus. He heads out seeking employment first at the zoo and then as a peanut vendor. Neither works out, so he tries being a pet. Finally Oliver heads to the park where he meets a group of kids. After playing awhile, they all contemplate what they would like to do. Oliver, who wants to be a dancing elephant, starts to strut his stuff. He is so good that people don't pay attention to the passing circus parade. Finally Oliver gets the job that he wants and deserves. The text is simple and the illustrations are a delight, but the book is a bit long for kids just starting to read. 书不错 根据汪单推荐过来买的 很薄的一本书 觉得有点贵了 也没有录音

内容很好，页数也适中。适合初级小朋友。I can read 这个系列整体都是适应toddler这个阶段得。但是还是要家长自行判断长度是否适合小孩。小朋友注意力集中时间很短，最长不能超过15mins，个别书友60多页很显然有点难度得。所以就要分阶段循序渐进。这本适合最初级入门。
