在文学中，不是所有坏的东西都值得去批判。坏的侦探小说，坏的色情读物，坏的幻想文学，本身就以次品的方式包装自己，它们并不怀着超越自身品类的奢望，不劳我们郑重拉杂摧烧之。还有一类作品，我们可以说它们是“写坏了”，如才力不足者勉力为之而终不免竭蹶，像这类“坏”，实值得我们同情，也不必去批判。只有一种坏，非批判不可，它们以精心结撰之名饰精心算计之实。这种淆乱读者耳目的坏，即所谓“坏的好文学”(bad good litera-ture)，初看上去精致、深沉、藏着浅笑、忍着热泪、两个背影、一声长叹，细加审视，这些貌似“纯文学”的作品却原来是装配出来的，是在流水线上这里添一只高雅的胳膊，那里加一条深刻的大腿那样凑泊起来的。它们是如此光滑平顺，如此无辜无害，它们缺少的，或许正是罗兰·巴特提出的那个“刺点”。
