　　 本書是一部完整的有關中國曆代考試製度和考試理論、考試技術方麵的專科性辭書。
本書收詞範圍，上起先秦（考試製度的萌芽），下至當今（考試製度的日趨完善）。所涉內容，包括曆代考試製度中的一般名詞、術語，曆代各種類型、各種級彆的考試，曆代考試的組織機構及官員，曆代考試的基本製度（包括考生的報名、資格審查、考試設置、考試日期、命題、閱捲、錄取、考試的各項條例及紀律、防止舞弊的各項措施等），曆代考試中發生的事件，曆代考試中的常用稱謂，與考試有直接關係的學校，曆代關於記載考試製度的典籍、專著、文件，在中國考試史中有影響的相關人物（包括科舉時代的曆科狀元），以及現代考試理論與技術。由於教育測量與教育統計已在教育考試中廣泛應用，故亦納入收詞範圍。

《中國考試大詞典》硬殼封麵嚴重變形。包裝過於簡陋，以至於在物流運輸的過程中傷害瞭書籍。這不是一個負責任的大公司的做法。很生氣。
