It begins with absence and desire. It begins with blood and fear. It begins with a discovery of witches. ##总的来说还是一部言情小说，有几处设定我个人很喜欢：男女主的学术背景设定、女主家有生命的房子以及小说中很多涉及到生物、历史、科学方面的知识都很有意思。Rebecca Bishop在整部书中的影响力让人想到了希区柯克的电影Rebecca。 小说的中后段的两处描写很感人：女主在受难时脑中闪回了儿时妈妈睡前给自己讲的童话故事，一个包含了希望、力量和爱的，同时带有预言性质的故事；男女主血液相融的画面堪称全书最震撼同时也是最血腥的画面之一，期待电视剧的呈现效果。对于该小说最想吐槽的地方主要是作者塑造人物的失败，人物性格前中后期的变化缺乏合理的过渡，同时书中还充斥着大量无意义且对剧情推动毫无帮助的情节。
