It begins with absence and desire. It begins with blood and fear. It begins with a discovery of witches. ##又是一本情节拖拖拉拉的书~电视剧改编得比较大，但还是比较尊重原著（选角除外）~看得实在太累了~
##研究supernatural的历史学家写的女巫小说。爱情线像Twilight, 女主父母双亡就像Harry Potter，中间历史与解迷像达芬奇密码，女巫与吸血鬼的DNA和生命进化结合在一起还是蛮有趣的，最后穿越伊丽莎白一世年代联想到Doctor Who，也许每个历史学家都有穿越的梦想。但是阅读过程当中觉得描述性的文字比较累赘，还加入了大量古代方言，拉丁文之类的，这些都影响阅读进度。
节奏太拖拉，跳着看的，五章能凑一集剧就不错了……妥妥的古早玛丽苏，牛津部分还凑合(吸血鬼还做瑜伽笑死)，去法国金屋藏娇大面积崩坏简直没眼看，仅一些背景和书袋还算有趣。无法脑补马修古德演法国人。IB蜀黍的博士论文写的也是女巫，不由好奇他老人家会怎么写女巫小说……希望剧组能强力改编扭转局面吧
##要不是马修·古迪好看的让我膝盖发软，我是绝对不能坚持看完的，明明10个chapter就能写完的东西竟然写了43章，完全起点文风啊。

##总的来说还是一部言情小说，有几处设定我个人很喜欢：男女主的学术背景设定、女主家有生命的房子以及小说中很多涉及到生物、历史、科学方面的知识都很有意思。Rebecca Bishop在整部书中的影响力让人想到了希区柯克的电影Rebecca。 小说的中后段的两处描写很感人：女主在受难时脑中闪回了儿时妈妈睡前给自己讲的童话故事，一个包含了希望、力量和爱的，同时带有预言性质的故事；男女主血液相融的画面堪称全书最震撼同时也是最血腥的画面之一，期待电视剧的呈现效果。对于该小说最想吐槽的地方主要是作者塑造人物的失败，人物性格前中后期的变化缺乏合理的过渡，同时书中还充斥着大量无意义且对剧情推动毫无帮助的情节。
