Children's Literature Zack's classmate Andrew Clancy brags and lies. During the police polygraph test, which Zack challenges Andrew to take, Andrew's butt starts to grow whenever he lies. Next, Zack gets stuck with Andrew as his science fair partner. For their project, the twosome plan to pedal a two-seater bicycle attached to a generator with the hope of creating enough electricity to light up a light-bulb message. But on the eve of the fair, Andrew has told too many lies and his ever-growing butt threatens to put the kibosh on the boys' project. Humor abounds in this title, from the names of characters (i.e. Detective Stufflebean) to the various words used to refer to Andrew's posterior (i.e. labonza). Davis's black-and-white caricature drawings, which appear one per chapter, enhance Greenburg's comical text. This is the 28th book in the early novel series called "The Zack Files." Adults may find the preoccupation with backsides just a tad distasteful, but fans of the series expect a degree of lighthearted irreverence.
