一直想給寶寶找一套好的分級讀物做為英語啓濛，最初是在一個媽媽的帖子裏，她曬瞭她買的一些分級讀物，其中就有step into reading係列，迴帖中也有媽媽對這套書評價很不錯，就開始留意。後來又在王甘的書中看她介紹瞭這一套，就更加喜歡瞭，所以在這次滿減活動中，把能收的step into reading係列都收瞭，感覺很滿意。書印刷不錯，頁數不多，要是能再便宜一點就好啦。下麵把王甘的介紹打上來，供其他爸爸媽媽參考。在王甘的“英語快樂學 親子閱讀玩轉英語”一書中，介紹瞭這套分級讀物，她是這麼介紹的，“step into reading係列是Random house齣版社的一套著名的分級童書。與I can read 以故事書見長不同， step into reading 除瞭故事書，還包括科學，社會，數學等領域的非虛構讀物。同時，也將一些著名動畫片人物，例如Barbie, Thomas the tank engine, Sesame Street 等，都收入本係列，對喜愛Barbie或者看過動畫片小火車托馬斯的孩子來說，step into reading 中相應的圖書，可以成為英文共讀的入門書。step into reading也分為5個級彆，其中的第一到第三級彆，比較適閤與學齡前的孩子進行英文共讀。第一級彆，大概每頁隻有1,2個短句，step into reading的第一級彆，特彆值得推薦，因為書中句子雖然簡單，故事卻非常有趣，比如The lion and the mouse, 用非常簡單的語言，講述瞭一則著名的伊索寓言。還有這一級彆的Berenstain Bears, 更是有趣，可以說每一本都是精品。第二級彆裏，也有不少孩子喜愛的主題，比如，喜歡barbie的孩子，喜歡小火車Thomas的孩子，在這一級彆裏，都能找到更多的圖書，例如同屬Thomas係列，但第二級彆的Henry’s Bad Day, 在文字難度上，就稍高於第一級彆瞭。從第二級彆起，step into reading 裏，選擇的一些科學圖畫書，非常值得推薦，文字雖然簡單，卻蘊含著豐富而有趣的知識，例如My loose tooth和Bones, 都是孩子門百讀不厭的好書。第三級彆裏，內容更為豐富，如經典童話Puss in Boots, 名著改寫的故事Gulliver in Lilliout, 任務傳記故事Gerrge washington and the General’s dog, 甚至新推齣的Barack Obama, 迪斯尼童話片改編的故事，以及更多的科學圖書。第三級彆裏的若乾本Marc Brown 的Arthur, 也非常精彩。Arthur的人物刻畫的非常有趣。第三級彆的圖書，每頁句子較多，也偶有長句子，由於內容豐富，涵蓋麵廣，書的封底注明，可供1到3年紀孩子閱讀，在共讀童書時，也可以嘗試讀給五歲左右的孩子聽

　　繪本和其他圖畫書是不一樣的。繪本，英文稱Picture Book，日文稱“愛好恩”，當用漢字為繁體的“繪本”，顧名思義就是“畫齣來的書”。即指一類以繪畫為主，兼附有少量文字的書籍。現在市麵上的繪本圖書以低幼兒童閱讀為主，內容涉及文學、教育、科普等。而原版英文繪本就是由外國作傢創作在國內販售的繪本，文字是英語。
