Luckily, they are in the rubber "Umbubble" Andrew invented that keeps them safe. They encounter gooey, squishy, and slimy substances while in the pipes. They find their way out of the pipes to the kitchen only to have to fight off a cockroach and try not to be eaten by Mrs. Scuttle. Thudd keeps readers entertained by his silly jokes and his knowledge of bugs and substances. Teachers will find this book an amusing way to teach children about bugs, food, and places not usually explored by children."
