作者简介

Marina Lewycka was born in Kiel, Germany at the end of the war and grew up in England. She is the author of three bestselling novels: A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian, Two Caravans and We Are All Made of Glue.

本市适合外国文学、东欧文学、原版书读者。用一种幽默的笔法书写上一代人的苦难史，很难把握好分寸。玛琳娜的聪明在于，她的幽默只针对现实的生活，对历史的记忆碎片，或者说对家族史的回顾和整理中，幽默的笔法又变成了几许荒诞。不要小看这种差别，历史的苦难本就有几分荒诞的意味，乌克兰的历史其实就是那个时代中大历史的一个缩影。

《乌克兰拖拉机简史》，看见书名，一定会吓一跳，这是机械史还是小说？没错，这是小说。而且是获得了以为喜剧小说而设的“波灵格大众伍德豪斯奖”（Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize）的作品，同时也入选2005年的布克奖。

很好玩，中英文各买了一本，还买了一本她写的草莓地。英文这本是平装的，大概是小32开，纸皮本，纸质较差，很轻，但装订质量还是可以的。

觉得名字很有趣，比较小巧，书色看起来更旧。

　　或许，对于不知道那些历史，或者对那些历史知之甚少的人来说，乌克兰的历史遥远之极，而对于上了年纪的中国人来说，乌克兰又代表什么？从他1991年苏联解体之后它仅次于俄罗斯么？是乌克兰大婶，彪悍的哥萨克，还有乌克兰的大白猪，更有乌克兰大饥荒？对于现在的世界来说，是石油和天然气。乌克兰的作家呢？顶著名的是果戈理，当然还是著名的奥斯特洛夫斯基。在我们开始冷落前苏联和北方那片辽阔土地上的文学之后，几乎是看不见新的作品。现在可以见到的，也仅仅是已经英籍乌克兰裔女作家玛琳娜·柳薇卡这本《乌克兰拖拉机简史》。
