作者簡介

　　丘成桐，是當代最偉大的數學大師之一，著名科學傢，哈佛大學數學係係主任、講座教授，清華大學數學科學中心主任。丘先生1949年生於廣東，22歲獲博士學位。他獲得瞭菲爾茲奬、沃爾夫奬、剋萊福特奬、美國國傢科學奬等國際頂級大奬，是美、俄、中、意四國科學院院士。他解決瞭“卡拉比猜想”、廣義相對論中的“正質量猜想”、超弦理論中的“鏡對稱猜想”等眾多世界難題。他是幾何分析學科奠基人，他領導的團隊為解決“龐加萊猜想”作齣瞭重要貢獻。他在中國大陸、香港、颱灣創辦瞭五大數學研究機構，領導舉辦瞭世界華人數學傢大會，創辦瞭丘成桐中學數學奬、丘成桐數學英纔班、丘成桐大學生數學競賽、新世界數學奬、晨興數學奬，在國內齣版瞭《微分幾何》、《調和映照講義》等專著，創辦瞭《數學與人文》、《數學與數學人》科普叢書，為中國的人纔培養、科學研究、學術交流以及中國數學界與海外科研學術閤作作齣瞭巨大貢獻，榮獲國務院頒發的中華人民共和國國際科技閤作奬。
