　　I have noticed at least one serious problem on our campus： there is a serious lack of study areas. Dorm rooms are too small and too noisy. I think the university should provide students with a study lounge featuring tables， chairs， and maybe some couches. This way we would have a quiet place to study. If there were a few private rooms there， students from the same class could gather together and discuss their study.

　　Topic I recently went to a New Year’s Eve party with about two dozen friends.
　　Reason 1 This New Year’s Eve was very cold in Beijing， and the bar where we had the party was not heated. I saw many people standing around in their coats and sweaters， and they looked very chilly. As the night went on， it got colder and colder still！
　　Reason 2 Another problem was that some young lovers seemed to be having disagreements that night， and everyone could hear them arguing. This made other people very uncomfortable.

　　Do you think 16 year olds are responsible enough to drive？ Please include specific details in your explanation.

　　Topic I do not agree that people that age are responsible enough to drive.
　　Reason 1 First， driving can be very dangerous if one is not careful， and teens are often careless and easily distracted while driving. This is one reason they should not be permitted to drive.
　　Reason 2 Second， teens are known for texting on their cell phones， playing music via car stereos， eating food， and socializing with friends while driving. It has been proven that teens cause more road accidents than adults， who tend to be more attentive and responsible. To keep traffic deaths down， I think teens should be required to wait until they’re 18 years old to drive.
　　Conclusion I think the legal driving age should be raised to 18.

前言/序言

　　多年前，我坐在地鐵裏，手裏拿著一本《新托福官方指南》隨便翻閱著。書很厚，內容很繁復，而再過兩周我就要去新航道學校試講，應聘托福考試講師。我心裏並沒有底，這麼多內容要怎麼看？如果看不明白又怎麼講？一路上，我內心十分糾結，想著是否要放棄？畢竟，當老師並不在我的職業規劃範疇內，我其實還可以選擇去500強企業、投資銀行、跨國公司，因為我認為這些地方或許纔是我職業的歸宿。所以抱著一種“玩票兒”的心態，我在傢宅瞭兩周，研讀新托福考試的口語部分，試圖參透其中的玄機。我相信憑著自己在國外讀書、工作時練就的口語能力，再結閤托福口語考試的遊戲規則，總結齣一些高效、實用的解題思路和技巧不算什麼難事。就這樣，兩周後，我來到瞭新航道，排在應聘老師的隊伍中，準備試講。
　　試講時間不長，大概20分鍾，為瞭這短暫的試講，我已反復預演瞭N多遍，內容背得非常熟練。可實戰情況和模擬實戰之間總是存在著太多的差距和不可控、不可預知的因素。不得不承認，我有舞颱恐懼癥。暴露在眾目睽睽之下，我感到恐懼，腿腳打顫。在高壓的環境下，人的大腦會短路，準備的很多內容都用不上，現場和想象有太多不同。一些自以為是笑點或知識點的東西得不到下麵的反應，引起不瞭共鳴。拋齣去的信息，得不到及時的迴應，後麵內容就無法展開，那種感覺太難受瞭。為瞭避免冷場的尷尬，我的大腦飛速轉動，不斷地排列組閤預製的各種內容，拆瞭東牆補西牆。那時，我滿頭大汗，口乾舌燥，最後在驚魂未定時被喊瞭停，然後是被“批鬥”。雖說被“批鬥”是老套路，是例行公事，我也有心理準備。但身臨其境時，還是需要有足夠的涵養和強大的定力，否則在這艱難的時刻，壓抑的氣氛會讓你否定自己的一切，會讓你感覺被在場所有的人拋棄，你的思緒也會是一片混亂，行將崩潰。強烈的挫敗感、羞臊、失落會不斷考驗著你內心所能承受的底綫。往往就在此時，崩潰與勝利隻差分毫。如果你的意誌力足夠堅定，那麼在短暫的“批鬥會”後你將迎來光明。你會發現之前的打擊隻不過是浮雲，是障眼法。但要是真被迷惑瞭，你就會否定自己，從而一蹶不振，並在今後的一段時間內失去信心，放棄很多機會。而如果憑藉足夠的勇氣挨過瞭這些猛烈的打擊，那麼沉澱下來的承受力以及處變不驚的能力將使你的信心堅如磐石。你不再輕視自己，不再妄自菲薄，縱使滿天陰雲，不斷地被否定，隻要信念還在，之前的一切摔打、磨礪都將是日後發展的動力。
　　日月如梭，若乾年後，我有幸成為新航道學校托福主講教師。每次開班，在麵對那許多素昧平生的嶄新麵孔時，我還會問自己是否畏懼。是的，我曾畏懼過，因為沒有人天生就是教師，或托福科班齣身。拿著話筒麵對颱下的90、95後，我曾感到緊張、不安，我怕hold不住場。但我倔強，不輕言放棄，就這樣一天天磨練著我的耐心與韌性。我曾鬱鬱不得誌，身陷煉獄，也曾青雲直上，登堂入室。經曆過無數的睏惑與考驗後，終於有一天我不再畏懼，可以從容不迫、詼諧自如地麵對我的學生們，並將我的所學、感觸與經驗告訴他們，希望他們滿載而歸。
