老爷子似乎对好多事情都如对汽车一般感兴趣。大家一提到他，就会想起画家这称谓，可在我眼里，他是文字第一，木刻第二，画画第三。这可不是故弄玄虚，不信，您翻翻他的书看一看，从头到尾，你都能找到开怀大笑的机会，然而文章写的可不都是喜剧，甚至更多是悲剧，但文字中，总能释怀并化解。当然，湖南人笔下，怎会没有嬉笑怒骂的辣，可各种情绪总是被他调适得很好，让你笑中有泪地完成一段文字旅程。甚至我认为，当下中国文坛，各路写散文的高手，超出老爷子的少之又少，更何况，面对黄永玉这个名字，想占有他一幅画几乎没可能，但花百八十块钱，占有他写的几本书并因此分享他的智慧、思考与幽默本事，这便宜占大了。

必须承认，我喜欢很多老头，也愿意靠近他们，不仅得到智慧与启迪，还可以就近靠近榜样们。在我的人生目标中，最大的一个就是：将来成为一个好玩的老头，就像我现在喜欢的好多老头一样。

丁聪是黄永玉的老朋友，我在十几年前因为采访而走进“小丁”的家，以后就多了一些思念与牵挂。前些年，一场大病，老爷子进了医院，出来后，我看到他，慰问，没想到老爷子依然笑容满面，“我该走了，可问了一圈，人家不收。”于是，我们爷儿俩接着聊，老爷子又一句话把我逗乐了：“住院手术真有好处，你看，我一下子瘦下来几十斤，这下省心了！”仔细一看，还真是，老爷子真瘦了太多，但是乐观没变。其实，这一辈子，折腾他的可不只是病，比如黄金岁月去东北养猪，可回过头，老爷子会骄傲地对我说：“我养那猪，特肥！”

听说他是全北京最早开私家车的几个车主之一，而且是高层特批的。在这个故事里，真正让我感慨的是，开车时，他已经过了六十。后来，各种好车都喜欢，有空就过把瘾，只是到近几年，年纪大了，才只看不开了。
